What is Miyoo?

Miyoo is a unique service, which aims to support the practice of sharing and hiring between people, businesses, and communities. Miyoo is designed to help you to set up or join existing sharing communities with people you know or with people who share the same interests or goals. Items on Miyoo can be available for sharing or hiring, i.e for free or for a charge. Use the search box above to browse through some of the things that are available on Miyoo.

Sharing stuff with others? Why would I want to do this?

Most people share things everyday with friends and family, but knowing what is available and asking people to share with you can be difficult. Miyoo lets you form sharing relationships with many people and for everyday or unusual items. Sharing saves money and is very good for the environment potentially saving tonnes of carbon emissions.

Saving the Environment

All the things we own take lots of energy to produce. Most of the time things take far more energy, and create greater carbon emissions when they are produced than when they are used or disposed off. So if instead of buying new products, we share those already produced, then we save huge amounts of energy and significantly reduce carbon emissions. So we can go on enjoying using the products we want without the environmental damage associated with production.

Saving money

Sharing is totally free, so you save money every time you borrow something from the network and don't have to buy it. If you and the other party agree, there may be a small charge but this will normally be insignificant compared with the cost of purchasing. Every time you share an item you own, you get points and feedback which will encourage others to lend to you. So its a win-win situation.

Sharing Communities

Miyoo is organised around self-selecting communities. Sharing communities can be centred around families, friends, schools, or workplaces or shared interests for which certain tools or equipment is used, eg. musicians, photographers, sports equipment. As a community member, you can establish trust between yourself and other members of that community, making sharing and lending a safe and fun thing to do. Your whole community can save money and help the environment. There are hundreds of things around us which we can share; from baking trays, books, tennis rackets, dining chairs, spare beds, bikes, to cars and holiday homes. Miyoo helps you to share all these and more in a safe, fun environment.
